In the land of Gwandalan, on the border of the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie, a family of six reside in a small A-Frame house, a structure from the bygone era of the 1960s reminiscent of the Viking log cabins of old.

This house, with its wood-paneled walls and ceilings, is a fortress of nostalgia and quirkiness.

This familys’ story is a saga of epic proportions, filled with adventure, passion, and unwavering determination.

At the helm of this family is a fearless mother, Sharna,
a modern-day Viking chieftain, leading her clan through life's challenges.

The family weathered the storms of lockdowns & mandates, which cast the mother out of her cherished career as a case manager and counsellor. Yet, in adversity, she found strength and purpose. She commenced a part-time role with with a small company in Airbnb property management which became her refuge, allowing her the flexibility and time to sustain her dreams of creating VALHALLA HAIR.

The matriarch is a scholar- her quest for knowledge is unyielding, her thirst for wisdom unquenchable. In recent times she has embarked on a voyage into the art of natural product making, guided by the WeirdSistas, to craft natural dreadlock haircare products with mystical medicinal properties, passing down ancient wisdoms and forging a new path for her clan of customers.

Beside her stands a partner, Cameron, a native of the Coast and a lover of the sea.

Their love for metal music resonates in every corner of their home, a powerful force that binds them.
He is a maestro of music, skilled in the arts of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and vocals. He dedicates his days to teaching the young, passing on the ancient knowledge of melody and rhythm to primary school children. Yet, his true calling lies in the battlefield of the mind as a mental health facilitator, where he guides high school students through the labyrinth of their minds, teaching the wisdom of domestic violence awareness, and the art of self-care.

Their children, wild and untamed, are are nurtured in an environment that values their individuality, and free to explore the vast expanse of knowledge. They are a homeschooling tribe, forging their own path and nurturing their minds and souls in the ancient ways of learning.

Homeschooling provides the canvas for unique growth, upon which their curious minds paint their futures. It is a lifeline for the teenager and pre-teen, who struggled in the rigid structure of traditional schools. And for the 10-year-old with autism, it is a sanctuary of understanding, where he is no longer left behind in a failed schooling system.

Their loyal companions, two noble canines named Thor and Odin, and two enigmatic felines named Floki and Freya, are their steadfast allies, guarding their hearth and home with unwavering loyalty.

Their life is one of solitude, with few friends or social engagements and no nearby kin. Yet, it's a life that allows them to reconnect to the simplicities of life- The mother, a seasoned country girl from the central west, has rekindled her roots by nurturing the land, growing food and herbs, and harnessing the ancient powers of essential oils and organic sustenance to heal her family's minds and bodies.

The mother sought to create a haven of beauty and transformation within her viking stronghold. Bound by a love for her quaint abode, "VALHALLA HAIR DREADLOCK STUDIO" has now opened it’s doors, inviting all dreadheads to witness the magic of hair transformation within the halls of Valhalla.
