MEET YOUR MAKER!
A BIT ABOUT ME…
My name is Sharna and I've been a dreadhead & dread lover since 2010. I recently brushed out my 11 year old long, black dreadlocks and am currently rockin' temporary braid-in dreads whilst I transition to my natural blonde colour.
In my younger days I completed a Certificate II in Salon Assistant course but was unable to gain a mature aged apprenticeship at the ripe old age of 23! Instead of becoming a hairdresser, I turned my interest towards dreadlocks and have never looked back.
I have learned so much on my dreadlock journey and cannot wait to create my own "real" dreads again soon!
In the meantime, working on all of my client's beautiful heads is keeping me as passionate as ever about the dreadlock world- I love sharing my experience, knowledge & skills with others.
HOW VALHALLA HAIR WAS BORN…
I am a Dreadlock Artist or "lokktician" with 10+ years experience creating & maintaining dreadlocks- completely self-taught, and worked solely on a word-of-mouth basis here on the Coast. I didn't use social media, and built up a regular client base of around 20 dreadheads over the years, all whilst working & studying in the corporate world as a Case Manager & Counsellor, as well as being a mother to 4 children & 4 furbabies!
In 2023 I decided to follow my passion and "go professional" with dreadlocks. I completed the WeirdSistas "SistaSystem Lokktician Course", then became qualified as a Level 2 Lokktician Trainer- helping other Lokkticians complete their practical training. I am the only SistaSystem Trainer on the Coast, and 1 of only 2 trainers in NSW.
Myself & my partner have been huge fans of Norse mythology, vikings and the pagan culture our whole adult lives. Our clothing, hair, home decor, and even our pets' names are inspired mostly by the 'Vikings' TV series, so it was only natural that my personal interests and lifestyle would tie into my business.
I work alone from home- no staff or warehouse- just me! Later in the year I will be opening a dreadlock studio here in Gwandalan on the Central Coast/Lake Macquarie border, and I am looking forward to sharing this future space with my clients & friends.
VALHALLA HAIR is my love, my life, and my fate. Thank you for coming along on this journey with me!
SKAL, WARRIORS!
